Low Inventory of Available Homes

If real estate values in our area are improving, and they are, then why is it so hard to find a good property – I know plenty of people who would like to sell their home.  Many buyers are saying that the property they want to buy just went under contract with someone else.  In today’s market, why is it hard to find a property that is priced right, has curb appeal on the outside and is clean on the inside?

The number of available properties for sale continues to shrink, this has been happening gradually, since our local market bottomed-out. With that said, there are still plenty of seller’s who would like to sell their property. When I talk about a low inventory of properties for sale, I am referring to a lack of desirable properties on the market at a given time. There are however, lots of over-priced properties, others that have not been maintained and some that are not visually appealing. The struggle buyer’s are having is the search for an affordable or value-priced property. On the resale of a property, buyers are finding it difficult to grab something that has been cared for, shows well, and is reasonably priced.
